South Carolina state Rep. Nikki Haley has taken a lead in her state's Republican gubernatorial primary, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll taken after Haley's campaign appearances last week with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her state's former first lady, Jenny Sanford.
Haley draws 30 percent support in the four-candidate field, according to the Rasmussen poll. Her next-closest competitors are state Attorney General Henry McMaster, who takes 19 percent of the vote, and Rep. Gresham Barrett, who's at 17 percent. Twelve percent of respondents said they supported Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer.

Haley trailed all three of her opponents just two months ago, drawing 12 percent support in a March Rasmussen poll.
Since then, she's been endorsed by Mitt Romney, as well as Palin and Jenny Sanford, and the political advocacy group ReformSC has also run television ads supporting Haley's campaign.
The Rasmussen poll surveyed 931 likely Republican voters on May 17. If no candidate wins majority support in a June 8 primary, the top two finishers will advance to a June 22 runoff.
